MY STORY
Tonya R. Busby
Heal • Transform • Rise
I didn't grow up feeling safe.
I was an only child raised in a home shaped by violence, instability, and survival. My parents divorced when I was six, and my mother — who was battling alcoholism — got sober when I was seven. She worked two full-time jobs just to keep us afloat, which meant I learned very early what it felt like to be both sheltered… and completely alone.
I became a latchkey kid. I learned to take care of myself. And deep down, I carried a quiet belief:
There is no one here to protect me.
I longed for something different. A big, loving family. Safety. Connection. Belonging. So when I became a teen mother, I believed I had found my chance to create the life I never had.
I finished high school a year and a half early — with my son by my side at graduation — and stepped fully into adulthood before I ever had the chance to be a child.
But the life I tried to build… wasn't the life I deserved. I spent 19 years in a marriage marked by domestic violence. There were many breaking points — but the moment that changed everything was the last time my husband abused me and spit in my face.
Something inside me woke up. That was the moment I could no longer deny the truth:
I had been abandoning myself.
🌿 The Turning Point
My healing didn't begin with strength. It began with surrender. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I let go of everything that no longer served me:
✦ The belief that I had to prove myself
✦ The need to control what I couldn't
✦ The habit of loving others more than I loved myself
✦ People-pleasing, perfectionism, and external validation
I rebuilt my life from the inside out through:
✦ Recovery and emotional sobriety
✦ Prayer and meditation
✦ Deep spiritual work
✦ Coaching, therapy, and mentorship
✦ And the power of community
I didn't just get sober — I transformed.
✨ Choosing Myself
Seven years ago, I made one of the most important decisions of my life: I chose me. I committed to my emotional sobriety and began doing the deeper work — the kind most people avoid.
Healing, for me, was an awakening. It felt like God lifted my head, pulled my shoulders back, and reminded me of who I truly was.
I stopped living other people's dreams. I started believing in my own. I found God within myself. And I learned how to love myself — fully, deeply, and unapologetically.
💫 The Woman I Am Today
Today, I am a woman who has lived through:
✦ Childhood trauma
✦ Addiction and recovery
✦ Domestic violence
✦ Codependency
✦ Loss and grief
✦ Reinvention and rise
I worked full-time while raising three children and earning both my bachelor's and Master's degree. I have over 16 years of recovery. I have built a healthy, loving marriage that has lasted over a decade.
And through it all…
I didn't just survive. I transformed.
✨ My Purpose
Today, I am a Master Transformation Coach devoted to helping others do the same. My clients come to me when they are:
✦ Ready for real change
✦ Craving love, connection, and self-worth
✦ Seeking emotional sobriety and healing
✦ Tired of repeating the same patterns
And what I offer them is not just coaching… I offer them a pathway home to themselves.
Because I know what it's like to feel lost. I know what it takes to rebuild. And I know what's possible on the other side.
🧚🏽♀️ My Essence
At my core, I am a loving, giving, deeply compassionate woman. I believe in magic. I believe in transformation. And yes… I believe in sprinkling a little fairy dust along the way.
Because healing doesn't just have to be heavy… it can be beautiful.
If you're here, something in you is ready.
Ready to heal. Ready to grow. Ready to rise.
